What is Explore New Zealand?

Explore New Zealand is not a web site or web based travel portal. In fact it  is know as a tourism e-commerce site.

Explore New Zealand information reservation system is an interactive online direct access global information reservation distribution system for tourism related product within New Zealand.

Explore New Zealand information reservation system has been designed on similar lines as a travel agent's computerised reservation system.

Due to different types of tourism providers contained on Explore New Zealand, Explore New Zealand is deferred online, as opposed to being real time (or instant) response.

How does Explore New Zealand work?

Explore New Zealand information reservation system has been design for an individual to obtain information and prices on any accommodation, travel related product, bar/venue, events, etc, and/or make reservations for any accommodation or travel related product.

All reservations are processed on online directly to the tourism provider concerned or through one of Explore New Zealand partner reservation system like Hotel, Hostelworld, Viator, etc.

If you have not received a reservation availability, confirmation or a response to an inquiry after 36 hours, please resend your reservation request/s or inquiry again or if it is urgent, please contact our Support Centre by phone, fax, email or live via the Net.

How do I make a reservation?

To make a reservation, all you have to do is click on the Online Reservations or For further information and reservations link of the tourism operator's information page and you will be taken to their reservation request or to one of our partner's online reservation system.

Please make sure that you give the respective tourism operator the necessary information, failure may cause delay in confirming a reservation or possible loss of any vacancy due to not giving the right information.

If you  want confirmation of availability and/or price, special needs, etc,  please make sure that you put the respective information in the 'Comments' field at the end of the reservation request.

If using one of our partner's online reservation system to make reservation, please follow the reservation instructions or procedures of the the reservation system your are using.

What happens if I do not receive a response to may reservation request?

When your online reservation is confirmed, you will receive an reservation confirmation by email.

Please remember, the Internet in regards to electronic mail is still not a 100% reliable and that you original reservation request or inquiry could have been lost in transmission, so it is best to print out any reservation confirmation from the screen before leaving.

It pays to check your Junk folder or Trash folder/can in case your reservation confirmation has been filtered into either your junk folder or trash can, especially if you are using a public email account like Hotmail, Gmail, etc.

How often is Explore New Zealand updated?

Explore New Zealand information reservation system is updated nightly 7 days days a week.

Yes you can.

Do I have to make and guarantee any reservation/s?

It is recommended that you have a guaranteed reservation/s when travelling within New Zealand, especially during any busy period eg: Summer, Special Events, etc.

If you do not have a guarantee reservation for accommodation, travel, etc, you may find reservation hard to get if you are travelling in New Zealand.

If you have a guaranteed reservation, you can always amend or cancel any reservation/s.

Cancellation of a reservation may incur cancellation fees. Please check your reservation confirmation for any cancellation/refund conditions.

Please remember, some accommodation and travel operators have cancellation or 'Now Show' penalties and if they have been guaranteed by a credit, checking or debit card, please make sure, you cancel any such reservation/s in accordance with the operator's cancellation requirements.

Are local taxes included in my prices?

If you are travelling in New Zealand, Goods & Service Tax (GST) in almost cases, is included in all prices.

If you are not sure if local taxes are included in any services, please ask the tourism operator concerned.

Do I need to have travel insurance?

It is recommended that you have a travel insurance when travelling, to cover your luggage, personal belongings, medical and hospital care.

If you are not a New Zealand resident, hospital care in New Zealand is expensive if you do not have travel insurance.

If you have medical in your own country, please check if your medical insurer to what level the that your insurer will cover you to before leaving your country.

If you require travel insurance or require to top up your medical/travel insurance, please contact your professional travel agent for advice.
