Kahurangi is known for its rugged country and the home to a wide range of

There are good tracks including the Heaphy Track through to Karamera on the
West Coast and the Wangapeka.
From the Waikoropupu Springs (the worlds clearest fresh water springs) to
the northernmost point of the South Island - Farewell Spit, the Golden Bay
region is real natural experience.
Takaka is served by daily coach and bus services from Nelson and Motueka and Takaka Valley Air
Services providing an air service from Takaka to Wellington.
There are no passenger train or rail services from Takaka to Motueka, Nelson,
Westport, Greymouth, Picton, Blenheim or Christchurch. |
